Creekline at Fairfield
The situation
A former harbor-turned-foundry site, Fairfield Metro required major soil cleanup. Though the station opened in 2011, nearby land remained unused until redevelopment picked up in 2020.
The solution
Backed by public and private partners, the site was remediated to make the land safe for development. Axela joined early to support the construction of Creekline— a walkable, transit-connected residential community.
The result
Now a hub for modern living, Creekline features 70 modern studio to two-bedroom apartments with in-home laundry and Ash Creek Blvd views — just steps from the station. It’s a model of brownfield transformation and smart urban living.
Creekline sits along Ash Creek — one of the last healthy saltwater estuaries in the region. It’s a stopover for migratory birds like yellowlegs, herons, and even the occasional merganser.
